Proper storage management is crucial for maintaining the stable performance and extending the service life of portable energy storage power supplies. Since these devices typically utilize lithium-ion or lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries as their energy storage units, improper environmental conditions or charge levels during long-term storage can lead to reduced battery capacity, performance degradation, and even safety risks. Therefore, when the device is not in use for an extended period, it should be stored according to standard guidelines to ensure it remains in optimal working condition.

 

Portable energy storage units should be kept in a dry, well-ventilated, and clean environment, away from prolonged direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, and areas with excessive dust. Excessive heat accelerates internal chemical reactions and battery aging, while extremely low temperatures can impair discharge performance. Consequently, the storage environment should be maintained at a suitable temperature, and the device should be kept away from fire sources, corrosive substances, and strong magnetic fields. Additionally, the device's exterior and ports should be kept clean to prevent dust or moisture from entering and causing malfunctions.

 

It is not advisable to store portable energy storage units in a fully charged or completely depleted state for long periods. Instead, the device should be maintained at an appropriate charge level and checked periodically-recharging as necessary according to the product manual-to prevent battery over-discharge caused by prolonged storage at low power. For units using lithium batteries, avoiding a constant 100% charge state helps reduce battery stress and extends cycle life. Before long-term storage, the device should be powered off and disconnected from external equipment to minimize unnecessary power consumption.

 

Regular inspection is another vital aspect of storage maintenance. During long-term storage, the device should be periodically examined for deformation, damage, or other abnormalities, and the charging ports, output ports, and battery status should be checked for proper function. If issues such as abnormal heating, swelling, unusual odors, or failure to charge or discharge correctly are detected, use of the device should be discontinued, and professional inspection should be sought. Adopting scientific and reasonable storage practices effectively minimizes performance degradation and extends the device's service life, ensuring reliable performance for outdoor power supply, emergency backup, and mobile energy applications.
